Tom and Tarasita Blair bring a fresh approach to ministry. They have both lived a real life full of brokenness and woundedness. They live a real life full of consequences; proof that life leaves scars. Yet, it is from this perspective that they minister. Pastor Tom can often be heard saying “Yahshua (Jesus) never asked anyone where they’ve been, He only concerned Himself with where they were headed”. And, “We are all the same at the foot of the Cross”.
Tom – Was raised by a loving family in rural North Texas. His family were regulars at the one room church house. He grew up with strong Christian convictions, yet he still made bad choices and suffered severe consequences. Tom was quoted as saying, “Church never saved anyone, much less changed their lives. Only a transformed heart which brings forth new actions, and better choices can do that. There is only one way to accomplish transformation, and that is to be washed in the Blood of the Lamb and actually walk that out in the moments of life”. Tom was educated in seminary, and pastored churches in the denomination. In 2000, Tom left the denomination to minister to the invisible people. Reflecting on that time, Pastor Tom states, “I was just playing the game, then Yahweh (God) called me out to the deep water where life got real.” Since that time he has ministered to the homeless, to the prisoners, to the drug addicts, and to those facing the end of their lives. When asked why he thought he was called to the invisible people, Pastor Tom stated, “ ‘Cause no one is doing it. And they don’t do it because there’s no money in it”. Since leaving the denomination Pastor Tom has not accepted a salary for ministry, counseling, and other pastoral functions. There is never an offering plate passed at Freedom in Faith. Offerings are totally left up to the individual. Pastor Tom is Messianic Hebrew not to be confused with Judaism but he does bring the Hebrew perspective to both the Old and the New Testaments. He has traveled teaching the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith and authored several books. But when asked who he is, he will say, “Just a red-neck kid from the creek bottoms of North Texas.” Pastor Tom invites you to come walk with him as he pursues the Father.
